Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Breastfeeding: Human Medicine Preparation for Interprofessional Practice Educational Module (the “Module”) is provided by the University of Mississippi Medical Center (“UMMC”) through its on-line medical education portal Canvas Learning Management Platform (the “Portal”) for use by registered users thereof including UMMC’s students in the schools of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health, social work, health professions, dentistry and biomedical sciences. Additional learners accessing the Module through the Portal may include other health profession students and health professionals in practice, including faculty at UMMC and other health care institutions, as determined by UMMC (collectively, “you” or the “users”).

This Module was funded through a grant by Inspire Health, Inc. (“Inspire”) and developed collaboratively between Communities and Hospitals Advancing Maternity Practices (“CHAMPS”) and UMMC (Inspire, CHAMPS and UMMC collectively, the “Sponsors”). This Module is hosted by Dynamic Digital Advertising, LLC (“Hosting Vendor”) under contract with Inspire and licensed by Inspire to UMMC for its use as described in this Privacy Policy. Inspire owns all copyright and other intellectual property rights with respect to the Module.

The Sponsors and the Hosting Vendor ("We") respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

This policy describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you use the Module and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy only applies to information we collect on this Module.

It does not apply to information collected by us offline or through any other means, including on any other website operated by UMMC or any third party (including our affiliates and subsidiaries), including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the Module.

Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use the Module. This policy may change from time to time (see Changes to Our Privacy Policy). Your continued use of the Module after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

Individuals Under the Age of 18

Our Module is intended for the users described above and is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18. If you are under 18, do not use or provide any information on the Module or on or through any of its features/register on the Module, use any of the interactive features of the Module or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from an individual under 18 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It

We collect several types of information from and about users of the Module, including information:

  • by which you may be personally identified, such as name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, or any other information the Module collects that is defined as personal or personally identifiable information under applicable law. ("personal information");
  • that is about you but individually does not necessarily identify you, such as institutional affiliation, professional and educational background;
  • that is demographic information; and/or
  • about your Module usage.

We collect this information:

  • Directly from you when you provide it to us.
  • Automatically as you navigate through the Module. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.

The information we collect automatically may include personal information, or we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third parties.

How We Use Your Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:

  • To allow you to access the Module and its contents.
  • To improve the Module and the user experience.
  • To provide usage reports to the Sponsors for operational and evaluation purposes, which reports may identify the user’s institution or instructor.
  • To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including our Terms of Use.
  • In any other way we may describe when you provide the information.
  • For any other purpose with your consent.

Disclosure of Your Information

We may disclose aggregated information about the Module’s users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.

We may disclose personal information that we collect, or you provide as described in this privacy policy:

  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.
  • To UMMC if you are a student, faculty member or other healthcare professional enrolled with, employed by or otherwise affiliated with UMMC or otherwise accessing the Module through the UMMC Portal.
  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support the Module and troubleshoot technical issues and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.
  • With your consent.

We may also disclose your personal information:

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request.
  • To enforce or apply our Terms of Use, found at https://breastfeeding.inspire-health.org/Terms_of_Use.html, and other agreements.
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Sponsors, the Hosting Vendor or others.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

You may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, change that information or delete it in some circumstances.  To request to review, update or delete your personal information please contact us at [EMAIL ADDRESS].

Proper access and use of information provided on the Module, is governed by our Terms of Use, available at https://breastfeeding.inspire-health.org/Terms_of_Use.html.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We will only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Data Security

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to the Module.  Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Module.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

It is our policy to post any changes we make to our Privacy Policy on this page. The date the Privacy Policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for periodically visiting the Module and this Privacy Policy to check for any changes.
